Haas shoots 67 to win the Humana Challenge

Bill Haas was able to shoot four rounds in the 60s en route to his sixth PGA Tour title.

He was able to hold off beat Charley Hoffman, Brendan Steele, Sung Joon Park, Steve Wheatcroft, and Matt Kuchar by one stroke.

Phil Mickelson could not recover from a first round 71. He finished at -15 tied for 24.

Tiger Woods will make his season debut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. This is his first time playing the course since 2001 when happened to ace the par-3 16th in the third round. The last time Tiger played in a competitive tournament was his Hero World Challenge where he came in tied for 17th. He has a new swing consultant and it will be very interesting to see how he performs in his first outing of 2015. Rickie Fowler is making his first start on the PGA Tour in Scottsdale. He played at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship earlier this month. He finished T66 2-under. Walker wins the Sony Open by 9

Jimmy Walker won the 2015 Sony Open in Hawaii by a record 9 strokes. He was able to shoot four rounds in the 60s to win this title in back-to-back years. On Sunday, Walker recorded a 63 on his scorecard to claim the tourney. This was his fourth career title.

Welcome back Lefty! Phil Mickelson is making his first appearance of the season at the Humana Challenge. This is his first start since the Ryder Cup. He will be looking to get off to a hot start in 2015 because his 2014 season was awful. Lefty had twelve top 25 finishes. The highest finish he had was second at the PGA Championship to Rory McIlory.

Defending champ, Patrick Reed will look to become the first repeat champion since Johnny Miller did it in 1975-76. At this event last season he became the third player to win this event wire-to-wire.

The PGA Tour hula dances into the capital of Hawaii to partake in the Sony Open. This is the first full field in 2015. Jimmy Walker returns to the place where he shot a -7 63 on Sunday en route to the victory. It was his second career win. Nine of the last ten winners will return to Waialae CC. The last person to win back-to-back titles was “The Big Easy” Ernie Els in 2003 and 2004.

The Hyundai Tournament of Champions is a selective event that only allows winners from the previous season to participate in the event. Last year, Zach Johnson was able to shoot a 33 4-under to steal a victory from Jordan Spieth.
