5 reasons to be addicted to the Match of the Week from WrestleMania 24

This week’s Match of the Week is Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24. Personally, these are two of the greatest to ever put on the boots.

Build-up

Mr. McMahon told Flair that whenever he lost he next match his career would his last. “The Nature Boy” then went on a huge winning streak heading into this historic match. “The Heart Break Kid” insulted Flair by calling him Old Yeller.

These are the top 5 reasons to watch this match:

  1. Ric Flair’s last match in WWE.
  2. Flair took three shots of “Sweet Chin Music”
  3. Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler calls the action. Need I say more?
  4. Flair connected from the top rope.
  5. You get to see an apparent respect between the two competitors.

This, however, was not the last match for Flair. A year later he went to work for TNA.

This match and others are all available on the WWE Network.

Young Veteran Series Presents: Kanye West Top 10

Yes, Mr. West is in the building. For a decade, Kanye has made a strong argument for being named the best rapper alive. The Chicago native has put out hit after hit and has never disappointed. I must say that I had lost a great deal of respect for West after he interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV VMA Awards in 2009. It was out of line and uncalled for, but since then he has let his music do all of the talking for him.

Let us look back at a a couple of his most memorable moments:

Though Kanye seems to have a tough, brash persona, his music is actually deep, sympathetic, empathetic, and very meaningful. In his latest song he portrays his mother in the third voice speaking down to Kanye and his daughter, North.

Click here for a previous release his newest song “Only One” featuring Sir Paul McCartney.

Kanye West is my favorite rapper, because he is not like the rest. He does not reuse the same material verse after verse. I personally, do not care about how much money someone has, how many women they are sleeping with, how many cars they driving, or how much an outfit costs. He discusses political and social ideals that are truly not ignorant. Though his opinion may not be in the majority, he is at least willing to share his opinion. For that reason alone he should be respected. Even Kanye said that he was the abomination of Obama’s nation.

Typically, when I write about an artist’s Top 10 songs I select ten songs and leave it there, but Mr. West deserves two separate countdowns. One is for the work that he has done on his own, and the other for all of the collaborations that he has done.

Top 10 Kanye West songs:

10. Heard ‘Em Say

9. Stronger

8. All Falls Down

7. Jesus Walks

6. Flashing Lights

Happy New Kanye

It’s a new year and Kanye West is back with a new sound. In a song called “Only One” featuring Sir Paul McCartney is a ballad that has piano playing in the background. He dedicates the song to his daughter, North West.

The ballad is available on Itunes.
